Planning Portal Fee Calculator is maintained by the site owner as a small educational web resource. The site does not claim to be a government service, planning authority, law firm, or substitute for professional advice. We do not publish invented credentials, testimonials, user counts, or reviews.

How information is checked

Fee categories and figures are compared with the GOV.UK planning-fee guidance, annual indexation notices, and the Town and Country Planning (Fees for Applications, Deemed Applications, Requests and Site Visits) (England) Regulations 2012, as amended. Planning Portal pages are used for practical application context, while the statutory sources control the fee references.

How updates are managed

At an annual review, we check the calculator rules, fixed fees, rates, thresholds, caps, exemptions, service-charge notes, article examples, source links, metadata, and redirects together. Proposed reforms are not described as current law until the relevant legal change takes effect. Substantive changes are recorded in the update log.

Corrections

If you spot an incorrect figure or explanation, send the page URL, application category, current wording, proposed correction, effective date, and an official source where possible. We review corrections rather than silently changing a number without recording why.

Limits of editorial review

A source-linked explanation can help a visitor understand a fee, but it cannot predict how an authority will classify a particular application. Always confirm the category and final amount with the relevant authority before paying.
